The incident happened Monday evening around 8:30 near Idaho Falls on I15. ISP dispatch received a call that a driver was swerving, speeding, running off the road, and almost hitting other vehicles.

Idaho State Police found the vehicle, a white 2023 Toyota Camry, and conducted a traffic stop at a Love’s truck stop in Bonneville County. Police determined that the driver, 43 year old Joshua Edward Maddock from Pocatello, had been driving under the influence.

During a search of the vehicle, Maddock became argumentative and tried to reenter his vehicle. A physical ‘altercation’ happened and Maddock was tased multiple times, but the taser proved to be ineffective and he was able to get back into his car and drive away.
