Washington Bikers Injured While Passing Semi Truck on Idaho Highway
A recent report from the Idaho State Police shared the details of an accident involving a motorcycle accident that injured two people.
This was the third serious motorcycle accident report in the last week. The other two resulted in fatalities.
Two Washington Motorcycle Riders Injured While Passing a Semi Truck in Idaho
The ISP news release says the accident happened on Monday, August 31st, at 12:46 PM, on US 20/26 at mile marker 1 near the Oregon border. Idaho 511 shows construction on the road in that area in both directions.
A 2019 Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by a 57-year-old man, with a 55-year-old female passenger, both from Woodinville, WA. was traveling eastbound on US20 when it struck an oil slick in the roadway while legally passing a semi-truck.
The motorcycle subsequently crashed and came to rest on the shoulder.
Both bike riders were wearing helmets when the bike crashed. The man was taken to a local hospital by ground ambulance while the female passenger was taken by air ambulance to the hospital for medical care.

While the semi-truck wasn’t directly involved with the crash, this was the second accident reported today by the Idaho State Police where a semi-truck was mentioned in the news release.
The other happened last night (the news release was shared today) on Interstate 84 on the Jerome County and Minidoka County border at mile marker 201. The report says a semi-truck lost control, travelling onto the right shoulder, then over corrected and rolled.
The truck driver was from Washington and wasn’t injured in the accident.
At the same time as the semi-truck rollover, Idaho 511 was also showing a vehicle on fire incident a few miles south of Mountain Home on I84.
