What? There Was a Naked Guy Walking Down the Street in Twin Falls Today

I have to start by saying that I have debated for a few hours writing this story or saying anything about the things that happened in front of my work today.

But, I can’t not say something. Today was crazy in Twin Falls, and this was only one street and about 1 hour of time.

Today I got to work and expected a regular ‘busy Tuesday after a holiday weekend’ type of day. Nope. I saw a naked man walking down the street in front of my window headed toward Oregon Trail Elementary School. Police showed up a few feet before he made it to the school zone.

Less than an hour later I heard the sirens coming again, zip past my building, and stop down the street at the same elementary school where the naked man was headed. This time it looked like a car accident had happened, but I walked down and it was a woman seated on the ground, clearly in some sort of distress, and being helped by a crowd of emergency responders.

I talked to a few people while I was out and they expressed concerns that the naked man and distraught women were not only so close to the school but so close to when school was about to be let out for the day. If you need proof, here are some safe-for-work pictures.

I didn’t talk to the police about the specifics of either of the situations. I don’t know if there were mental issues or if the incidents were drug-related. All I know is a naked guy was walking down the street and the lady next door just kept washing her car like it was nothing.

Is Twin Falls getting so used to crazy stuff happening that we don’t bat an eye at the insanity anymore? Of the many cars that drove past the naked man, a few stopped to call the police or take pictures (maybe) but I only saw one make an attempt to make contact and see if the guy was OK. Also, yes, that dog was with the man and really wanted to go in the police car with him.

There’s no political or religious point or blame to this story, at least not intended. I hope the man and the woman got the help they needed. I have just been sitting here for hours trying to wrap my head around my day.
