Here’s Why the 2 New Idaho License Plates Are a Disappointment
For some people, it isn’t enough to just have the cool car. The finishing touch for many Idaho vehicles is the personalized license plate.
Some people choose a plate with a color scheme that complements their vehicle, and others choose a clever arrangement of numbers and letters to make a statement. And in Idaho, there are a lot of options when it comes to custom license plates. There are also numerous rules when it comes to personalizing a message with letters and numbers.
Why the 2 New License Plate Options Underwhelm Idahoans
On July 1st, Idaho is releasing two new license plate options, and they aren’t really very exciting. Here’s why: one looks like it was made for Iowa (we get that some people confuse it with Idaho), and the other is too basic. The first plate is the updated Idaho Agriculture option with the words ‘Harvest the Future’ printed across the bottom. The second plate is a white plate with black letters, which would normally be exciting, but we just got the black plate with white letters, the Gadsden plate, and the America 250 plate: all of which are cooler than these two new ones.
Now, that is my opinion. These two new plates aren’t special enough to compete with the other recent releases, except maybe the Idaho submarine plate, since that one is pretty lame.
But another reason these two new plates aren’t exciting right now is that we are celebrating America 250. There are at least 10 great patriotic plates offered in Idaho to all residents, and it seems like going into the DMV in July to get anything other than a patriotic plate is un-American.
