UPDATE 1/29/24 5:20 PM: Authorities have updated the public on the incident from early this morning. Emergency Responders were called out to a report of a woman in distress on the south side of the canyon near the Perrine Bridge. Crews were able to get to her and she was airlifted to EIRMC in Idaho Falls.


ORIGINAL STORY:

The Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office is reporting an incident at the Perrine Bridge in Twin Falls. Rescue Crews are on site and are asking residents and visitors to stay away so first responders can work.

Emergency vehicles can be seen in the traffic cameras on the 511 website on the East side of the Perrine Bridge. In the first, you can see what looks like a fire truck and responders to the right of it. In the second you can see at least 2 emergency vehicles on the Canyon Rim Trail and an ambulance can be seen in the 3rd photo.

The incident does not appear to be causing traffic issues, but drivers should use caution and not slow down to try and see what is happening.

UPDATE 1/29/24 2 PM: Idaho 511 cameras show that the emergency vehicles have left and the area is cleared. No official update from the Police yet, but KMVT is reporting that it was a response to a woman in distress in the canyon who was airlifted out.

Social media sites are claiming someone slipped near the edge of the canyon, but those claims are unverified at this time. We will update the story when information is released by the Police.

California Man Injured in Rollover Accident Near Caldwell Sunday Night

Idaho State Police are investigating a single-vehicle accident that happened Sunday evening around 7:30 PM west of Caldwell:

A 30-year-old male, from Sacramento, CA, was traveling westbound on Karcher Rd. in a 2007 Lexus sedan. The vehicle left the right shoulder near Hoskins Rd. and overturned.

The driver wasn't wearing a seatbelt and was taken by air ambulance to a local hospital.
