The Idaho State Police have been investigating an accident that happened over the weekend between a pickup truck and a mobility scooter. The accident happened Saturday afternoon and was one of seven serious accidents reported by the ISP between Friday and Monday.

The accident has been updated from an injury accident to fatal now that the driver of the mobility scooter has passed away from injuries sustained in the crash.

A Man in Idaho Riding a Mobility Scooter Has Passed Away After Being Hit By a Pickup Truck

Over the weekend, there were seven accidents involving 12 vehicles and 15 people. Three people passed away at the scene of their accidents, and six people were taken to hospitals. One of the accidents was a crash between a pickup truck and a mobility scooter. The driver of the scooter was taken to the hospital by ground ambulance on February 28th.

It was announced today, March 3rd, that he passed away.

ISP UPDATE – FRANKLIN COUNTY, Idaho – The occupant of the mobility scooter, a 67-year-old male from Preston, succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.

The accident happened in Preston, Idaho, on S. State Street near W. 1st Street at 3:44 in the afternoon.

A 62-year-old male driver from Utah in a pickup truck struck a 76-year-old male on a mobility scooter at the crosswalk on State Street. The scooter rider was taken to a local hospital for care but passed away a few days later.
