40 of the Worst Idaho License Plate Rejections from 2024

About 2 weeks ago I saw a huge surge in views of the rejected personalized license plates story from 2023, so I knew it was time to dive into the list from 2024 and get you the newest and best of the worst.

These rejected license plates are always a surprise because the creativity that goes into the plate letters is one thing but the extreme creativity (and lies) that people put into their explanation for the request rose to a new level in 2024.

Idaho's Rejects: Inappropriate Personalized License Plates Requested in 2024

A nice addition from the DMV in 2023 was that they included the reason for the personalized plate and the reason for the denial in their report to us. In previous years we had to guess what was going on in the heads of the people making these absurd requests and try to figure out why some of the tame ones were rejected by the DMV.

For 2024, the DMV sent me a report that is 24 pages long of requests for personalized license plates. That gave us hundreds of options to go through. Honestly, picking the best of the worst wasn’t that hard since there are a bunch of ridiculous ones here.

The hard part was making the list manageable. So, unlike last year where we blasted you with a list of 84 rejected plates, we are going to dish them out in 2 rounds this time.

Personalized license plates can get rejected for a variety or reasons, and many are obvious as you'll see in the gallery. Plates can't be vulgar, offensive, hateful, profane, or include drug references.

The Worst Idaho License Plate Rejections from 2023

You can get dinged on your submission form for a personalized license plate in Idaho for a lot of reasons. Most of these are obvious and others you may have to think about for a moment. If some of them don't make sense, then congrats on having a more pure mind than the rest of us.
