Fundraiser Started: Young Man Found Dead Near Southern Idaho Bridge Identified

Over the weekend a young man from Twin Falls was reported missing by concerned family members. A few hours later his body was found near a bridge in Southern Idaho.

Police believe he was hit by a car and are looking for help and information from the community.

Police Believe Young Man Found Dead Near Southern Idaho Bridge Was Hit By a Car

Around 4:30 PM on Monday, September 7th, police responded to a report of a deceased man found in a borrow pit north of the Hansen Bridge. The investigation indicates that the man was hit by a vehicle early on Sunday morning.

Authorities have identified the young man who was found dead near the Hansen Bridge as 21-year-old Shawn McLeroy from Twin Falls. Shawn was reported missing on Sunday, September 6th, by family members.

The investigation is ongoing and police are looking for any helpful information from the community. Anyone who saw what happened, has dashcam video, or any other information about what happened on Sunday morning north of the Hansen Bridge is encouraged to contact the Jerome County Sheriff’s Office.
