Fatal Accidents Reported Each Day Over the Weekend in Idaho

This weekend was a deadly three days on Idaho Highways. Idaho State Police have reported at least one fatal vehicle accident each day in addition to three other fatal accidents in the days leading up to the weekend.

Three Fatal Highway Accidents Reported in Idaho Over the Weekend

ISP shared information on each of the deadly crashes over the weekend, which included a motorcycle accident in Elmore County after a female driver lost control, a motorcycle death in Fremont County where the biker drove down a ravine, and a vehicle rollover in Nampa.

Female Motorcycle Driver Killed in Southern Idaho Accident

On Sunday, September 14th, around 1:15 in the afternoon, a motorcycle accident was reported on the Pine/Featherville Highway near mile marker 14.

The police report states that a 25-year-old female driver on a 2013 Honda CBR500 motorcycle ‘failed to negotiate a curve’ in the road and lost control. She was wearing a helmet but was separated from her bike in the accident and passed away at the scene of the accident.

Elderly Male Motorcycle Driver Dies in Accident After Losing Control

On Saturday morning, September 13th, a few minutes after 11, a deadly motorcycle accident happened on SH47 at mile marker 11.

Police believe the driver of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, a 75-year-old male, ‘failed to negotiate a curve’ and lost control. He went off the shoulder and into a ravine. He was not wearing a helmet and passed away at the scene of the accident.

Male Driver Dead After Rollover Accident into a Small Body of Water

Friday evening, around 8 on US20-26 at the 11th Avenue North intersection, a fatal accident happened.

The ISP report states that a 30-year-old male driver in a 2011 Mazda CX-9 drove off the shoulder of the highway and rolled the vehicle. The car ended up partially submerged in a ‘small body of water,’ and the driver was not wearing his seatbelt. He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital but passed away from his injuries.

Other fatal accidents in Idaho leading up to the weekend included a crash that killed two adults and seriously injured a child near the Utah border and a deadly motorcycle accident in Twin Falls, where the Idaho State Police assisted the Twin Falls Police Department.
