There are some stories that are just too vile to believe are true.
The 2021 arrest of an Idaho man yielded facts that were difficult for investigators to believe and mirrored a Hollywood movie based on a cannibalistic serial killer.
Silence of the Lambs was released in 1991. It starred Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster. Hopkins played a serial killer with an appetite for human flesh, and Foster played the detective working with him behind bars to catch a murderer. The fictitious character's name Hopkins played was Hannibal Lecter.
Idaho's Real Life 'Hannibal Lecter' Arrested in 2021
In December of 2021 a northern Idaho man named James David Russell was arrested after Bonner County investigators found remains of an area dead man in Russell's microwave, according to East Idaho News. Portions of the deceased man's genitals and leg were removed by Russell, according to East Idaho News.
