‘Jersey Shore’ Canceled — We’ll Be Having No More "Situations"
After five seasons of binge drinking, late-night club brawls, Snooki-isms, and gym, tan and laundry, MTV has decided to cancel the long-running reality show ‘Jersey Shore‘ upon the end of its sixth season, premiering Thursday, October 4.
Though MTV Reality Executive Chris Linn told EW a while back that it was “very possible” ‘Jersey Shore’ season 6 would be its last, the network gave the official announcement Thursday morning. Still, as of now, the final run was filmed as to not show any signs of a finale, but there will definitely be some “farewell programming,” says MTV.
For one, September 6 will begin the line of commemorative features that will celebrate the best moments from ‘Jersey Shore’ history. One of them is, naturally, called “Gym, Tan, Look Back” and will be the “capper” on a full day of ‘Jersey Shore’ specials. Not the mention the cast will be taking over the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards pre-show. Kill us now!
If all this news is bringing tears to your eyes, though, get over it. While the rest of us are jumping around over the prospect of never having to hear “We have a Situation” again, you still have those two ‘Jersey Shore’ love children known as ‘The Pauly D Project’ and ‘Snooki & JWOWW’ to swoon over.
