‘Jupiter Ascending’ Trailer: Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis Star in a Sci-Fi Opera
The Wachowskis are known for the big, wild ideas -- at least going by the first 'Matrix' and last year's 'Cloud Atlas' -- but we're left jaw agape after watching the trailer for their new film 'Jupiter Ascending.'
Making what could be the first actual space opera, space opera, Channing Tatum plays a soldier who tracks down Mila Kunis, who it seems was a princess or queen all along, which means that people want to kill her, oh and then there's Sean Bean. Every time the trailer seems sort of like 'Star Wars' or 'The Matrix' it shifts gears, and there appears to be a love story and our minds are sort of blown right now. This looks big, weird, and possibly amazing. We feel sort of like Keanu Reeves right now in that all we can say is "whoa."
'Jupiter Ascending' hits theaters July 25, 2014. Here's the film's synopsis:
Jupiter Jones (Kunis) was born under a night sky, with signs predicting that she was destined for great things. Now grown, Jupiter dreams of the stars but wakes up to the cold reality of a job cleaning other people’s houses and an endless run of bad breaks. Only when Caine (Tatum), a genetically engineered ex-military hunter, arrives on Earth to track her down does Jupiter begin to glimpse the fate that has been waiting for her all along—her genetic signature marks her as next in line for an extraordinary inheritance that could alter the balance of the cosmos.
