Locals South Of Preston ID Say Lady In White Haunts Vacated Town
A mother's love for her children is as strong as any bond known to man. Locals who live near an abandoned mining town southeast of Preston, Idaho, still talk about a woman who allegedly wanders the hills and crumbled structures looking for her missing baby after more than a century.
Most parents would never give up searching for a missing child. It's believed by many that this love extends into the afterlife and that if a person dies while undergoing extreme grief their soul can never rest. This thought process might explain why people living near Spring Canyon, Utah, claim to see the "White Lady" frantically attempting to locate her missing child.
Both versions of the child's demise are incredibly tragic, and would certainly haunt any parent right up to their final moments on Earth.

Spring Canyon was a flourishing mining town in the nineteenth century. The town, once home to more than 1,000 residents, is located just outside Provo, Utah, just a couple of hours drive from southeastern Idaho. The Utah Film Commission's website mentions multiple versions of the haunting of the distraught mother in a white, flowing gown.
One of the stories alleges the mother's infant was swept away in a landslide, according to information shared by the USU Eastern Eagle in 2023. Another version states the child was kidnapped and drowned in a nearby creek. Both versions of the child's demise are incredibly tragic, and would certainly haunt any parent right up to their final moments on Earth.
