Thanks to the polar vortex, the Magic Valley is gonna get another cold blast later this week. This will send temps well below normal averages for this time of year, even by December standards.

The chart above shows how the polar vortex normally works. Thanks to the jet stream, Idaho ends up not being affected much. But, check out this new graphic from the Washington Post of the polar vortex that is hitting the US this week.

The Magic Valley could see temps anywhere from 10 to 20 degrees colder than December normally gets. The worst seems to arrive this weekend with "highs" in Twin Falls of only 18 on Saturday and 15 on Sunday.

If you had outside plans this weekend, thank the polar vortex for the frigid feeling around your ears.
