Body Found of Missing Man, but No Trace of Dog
Police say the body of a man who went missing has been found, but there is no trace of his dog.
An Idaho man and his 14-year-old Yellow Labrador were missing for a couple days after the two reportedly were headed for an afternoon trip in the mountains north of Boise.
Authorities in southwestern Idaho said the elderly south Idaho man and his Labrador were rumored to have traveled to a section of mountains located approximately 100 miles north of Boise. Brian Ekman and his 14-year-old dog, "Cheech," hadn't been seen October 4. The last known area the two were confirmed to have been spotted in was near Donnelly.
According to details shared by idahonews.com, the two were traveling to an area known as Paddy Flat, in the West Mountains. The Valley County Sheriff's Office has said the two were last seen at about 4 p.m. last Friday.
Ekman's dog is a yellow and grey Labrador, with several visible tumors on its body. Ekman himself is a white male with grey hair. They might have also traveled to the Gold Fork area of the mountains.
