How Much Money Did Mel Gibson Lose in His Divorce? [VIDEO]

Mel Gibson is now a single man, albeit one with a much smaller bank account.

His divorce from his wife of almost 30 years, Robyn, was finalized Friday. And because they didn’t have a pre-nup, she was entitled to half the fortune he built during their marriage, making her cut about $425 million — considered by many to be the biggest divorce settlement in Hollywood history.

That means that for every year of marriage, Robyn earned about $14 million. What’s more, she’ll get half of every future check her ex-husband receives for the rest of his life.

The former couple, both 55, have seven children together — but given Robyn’s newfound status as one of Tinseltown’s wealthiest single moms, it’s probably a safe bet she won’t have to return to her former job as a dental nurse to support them anytime soon.
