‘Monsters, Inc.’ 3D Moved Up to December 2012
Those who can’t wait to see the 3D re-release of Disney and Pixar‘s ‘Monsters, Inc.’ are in for a special treat. The studio has moved the release date up from January 18, 2013, to December 19, 2012 — just in time for Christmas.
This also gives audiences only six months between the 3D re-release of ‘Monsters, Inc.’ and the upcoming prequel, ‘Monsters University,’ which hits theaters next June.
According to Slashfilm, Pixar and Disney have reorganized their schedule a little bit and are moving ‘Monsters, Inc.’ 3D up to December, which is perfect timing, considering the kids will be out of school for the holidays and who doesn’t love to go see a film with their family on Christmas Day? Not that we presume to know too much about your family, so maybe you want to go see a movie by yourself — it’s cool, we feel you. Maybe you can head to the theater after opening all (or none? We’re not judging) of your presents for a ‘Django Unchained‘ and ‘Monsters, Inc.’ double feature. That’s not weird at all.
‘Monsters, Inc.’ tells the story of Sully and Mike, longtime friends and co-workers whose job it is to scare the crap out of children and harvest their screams for energy to keep the monster world running. But monsters are actually terrified of children, and one day a curious little girl sneaks into the monster world, putting Sully and Mike’s jobs in danger in this hilarious and touching tale from the studio that brought us ‘Toy Story’ and ‘Wall-E.’
