A recent trip to a popular water park west of Boise turned out to be a great opportunity to get a sneak peek at some new rides being built.

The combination of the hot Labor Day weekend forecast and my son's birthday prompted us to make the two-hour drive from Twin Falls to Meridian for a couple of nights.

We arrived at the water park on Saturday, August 30, at noon, and spent the next several hours on rides and slides, in the wave pool, floating the lazy river, and snacking and sipping a few cold drinks at the cantina.

Idaho's Roaring Springs Water Park Breaks Ground On New Rides

The Heist is one of the new attractions planned to open in the next couple of years that will feature two 'giant funnels' and give riders a 'zero-gravity' experience, according to signage currently within the park.

The Hive is a uniquely designed ride that will include 'two 720-degree beehive helixes', and 'immersive translucent effects'. This new attraction is scheduled to open in May of 2026.

There are videos available on the park's website that give the public a better idea of what these rides will look like once completed. These two rides will be nice additions to the park and will help cut down on wait times for other attractions.
