‘Once Upon A Time’ Season 2 Gets ‘LOST’ Again With Jorge Garcia
Okay ABC, it’s time to admit it. Both ‘Once Upon A Time‘ and ‘LOST‘ are the same series, and it turns out that both are Hurley’s dreams. Wild twist theories aside, ‘Once Upon A Time’ season 2 has given itself yet another connection to the beloved ABC island drama by following through on its intent to cast former ‘LOST’ star Jorge Garcia! But what fairy-tale character will the gentle giant play, and how big a part in the series will he have?
According to TVLine, former ‘LOST’ star Jorge Reyes has landed his first post-’Alcatraz‘ gig on ‘Once Upon A Time’ season 2, a series well-known for its connections with ABC’s oft-debated mystery series. Garcia will take the role of a giant, though it isn’t known if the character is specific to any previous fiction, or an original creation. It’s plausible that Garcia could take the role of ‘Jack and the Giant Beanstalk’s giant, though there are a number of other possibilities in fiction. As of now, Garcia is only scheduled to play the character in one episode.
Previously, ‘Once Upon A Time’ has featured fellow ‘LOST’ alum Alan Dale (King George) and Emilie De Ravin (Belle), who was herself recently made a series regular. The series was created by former ‘LOST’ executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis, who even teased the possibility of utilizing ‘LOST’ star Naveen Andrews in the role of Aladdin villain Jafar.
Garcia’s Giant joins a long list of classic fable characters to be introduced over the course of ‘Once Upon A Time’s sophomore year, many based on Disney characters, including Mulan, Sleeping Beauty, Captain Hook, Ariel, Aladdin and the villainous Jafar.
