One Of Magic Valley’s Biggest Charity Events Will Not Return
The Festival of Giving is one of the biggest charity events that happen in the Magic Valley. Unfortunately, the event will not return and the non-profit organizations that have relied on that money in the past will have to find new resources.
The Festival of Giving was a big 4 day event where businesses and the community would come together to donate and collect money and resources for over 30 local non-profit organziations. Unfortunately, the event did not return this year and it does not appear that it will be making a return any time in the future.
Sources say that the board of directors that originally helped put the event together disbanded. I can only imagine how insanely busy and intense putting a giant event like this together would be. Just the Gala alone would be incredibly time-consuming and stressful.
They also used to do Breakfast with Santa where kids would line up to sit on Santa's lap and tell him what they wanted for Christmas. It was absolutely adorable.
One of my favorite things, though, was the Christmas tree auction. Different organizations would create beautiful Christmas trees and auction them off. The money would go to the non-profit organization that created the tree. I have to say I wanted all of them. I am sad I will never get one.
You can read more about what The Festival of Giving was like in years prior by checking out their website and Facebook pages. Both are still active so I am going to hold out hope it will return one day.
