Sammy Hagar Launches New Line of Coffee-Flavored Tequila
Sammy Hagar’s liquor empire continues to grow. The Red Rocker has announced the latest in his Cabo Wabo line of tequilas, a mixture of coffee and tequila called Cabo Diablo.
The beverage's Facebook page says that the “sweet, bold essence of Arabica coffee, vanilla and dark cocoa is blended with 100 percent blue agave Cabo Wabo tequila from the highlands of Jalisco. The result is an unquestionable smoothness, balanced with the mischievous bite of tequila.”
Hagar began selling Cabo Wabo tequila in the U.S. in 1999. Even though he has sold his entire stake in the company to Gruppo Campari, he has remained on board as the public face of the brand. In November 2011, Hagar launched Sammy’s Beach Bar Rum, a small-batch silver rum produced in Hawaii. The rum is now available in nearly every state in the U.S.
Cabo Diablo, which is 35 percent alcohol by volume, is currently available in five states: New York, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Connecticut and Wisconsin. Hagar is asking fans to discuss the product on social media using the hashtag “#DiabloMadeMeDoIt.”
