Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s ‘The Interview’ Already Has the Best Poster of the Year
One of the reasons why Mondo Posters have become a such a big thing in the geek community is that few modern posters pop these days. Bad photoshop, floating heads, few done with any sense of artistry. Which is why it's going to be awfully hard for a studio to produce a better poster than the one just released for writer/directors Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg's 'The Interview.'
Here's the film's poster (which we found through Seth Rogen's Twitter):
Invoking Soviet propaganda (and the Shepard Fairey art that borrowed liberally from it), this is a spectacular poster, with great color work and striking parallel images, but also suggests so much about the movie in that it's appears to be a goof on a very serious topic. Also: That it stars Seth Rogen and James Franco. Sold.
Here's the film's synopsis:
In the action-comedy The Interview, Dave Skylark (James Franco) and his producer Aaron Rapoport (Seth Rogen) run the popular celebrity tabloid TV show “Skylark Tonight.” When they discover that North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un is a fan of the show, they land an interview with him in an attempt to legitimize themselves as journalists. As Dave and Aaron prepare to travel to Pyongyang, their plans change when the CIA recruits them, perhaps the two least-qualified men imaginable, to assassinate Kim Jong-un.
