Idaho weather unpredictability strikes again. One day it is 75 degrees and sunny outside, the next it is freezing and there is snow. I am not sure Mother Nature realizes it is October 1st, but she decided to bless Pomerelle and Bogus Basin with some snow and a bright outlook for ski season.

I am not sure if snow this early means it is going to be a crazy winter or not. I am a sun baby, not a snow bunny so I am hoping it isn't too bad. The Idahoan in me who loves our local resorts and our spring run off is pretty excited.

Pomerelle Ski Resort is pretty excited as well. Just in time for their pre-season passes to go on sale, they got 2 to 3 inches of snow around the mountain. I have to admit I do love the way the snow looks on the trees and in the mountains. It is pretty beautiful.

If you are one of those who likes to get pre-season full season passes then this is pretty promising for your money. Just because we already have snow on the mountain doesn't necessarily mean it is going to be a great ski season but it is a step in the right direction. These photos shared by Pomerelle on Facebook are pretty amazing as well. I guess it is time to say goodbye to camping season. Unless you like to winter camp.

The best part about snow in the mountains this early, in my opinion, means that is it likely going to be a pretty good hunting season.
