KUNA, Idaho (AP) — Cats may have nine lives, but a dog in southwest Idaho seems to have a few more as it survived being struck by 13 trains.

KBOI-TV reports that Loki the Pit Bull and American Bulldog mix went missing from his Kuna home last week and was struck by a train. Owner Ryan Rossi says it wasn't until the thirteenth train went over him that a conductor noticed the year-old dog hurt on the tracks.

Loki was identified through his microchip. He lost a leg, an eye and his tail, but is already back to walking since returning home from the vet on Saturday. The Rossi family racked up more than $7,000 in vet bills, but say they lucky to have him alive
