Star Wars Battlefront to Debut at Star Wars Celebration in April
EA has announced that next month's Star Wars Celebration fan convention will mark the debut of not only the next trailer for The Force Awakens, but the unveiling of Star Wars Battlefront.
Polygon reports that we'll get our first big look at Star Wars Battlefront next month at Anaheim, CA's Star Wars Celebration. EA made an official posting about the unveiling, teasing what it has in store for the big fan convention. Ever since Disney acquired Lucas' empire in Oct. 2012, the House of Mickey has revealed it signed an exclusive deal with EA for new Star Wars games to be developed by Visceral Games, DICE and BioWare. We have a feeling we'll be seeing Visceral Games' mystery Star Wars project, directed by Amy Hennig (the Creative Lead of the Uncharted trilogy), revealed at this Star Wars Celebration or E3 this year.
EA's open invitation reads as follows:
It seems like such a long time ago (at an E3 press conference far, far away) since we announced we were working on Star Wars Battlefront™. Last year, we promised you would “See More in Spring 2015". Spring is coming.
We’re thrilled to share that Star Wars Battlefront will be taking part in Star Wars™ Celebration next month in Anaheim, CA from April 16-19. We could not think of a better or more appropriate place to debut the game officially for the first time than the premier event that celebrates the Star Wars universe and the legions of fans who have fallen in love with it.
Of course, there is much anticipation for the convention for another reason. J.J. Abrams, the director and co-writer of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, will be on hand to kick off the convention by unveiling the movie's second trailer. The Force Awakens will be launching on Dec. 18, with the spin-off film Star Wars: Rogue One and Episode VIII to debut within the following year and a half.
