The Most Likely Southern Idaho Locations For The ‘Upside Down’
December is a big month for streaming science fiction fans in Idaho. There are several shows either unveiling new seasons or releasing new episodes of current ones. The continuation of season five of Stranger Things might be the most anticipated release of 2025.
Stranger Things fans waited a long time for season five to be released earlier this year. The second half of season four came out in July of 2022, which means fans waited more than three years for the current, final few episodes (ever) which first hit Netflix this past Thanksgiving Day.
The other big science fiction release of the month is the much anticipated season two of Fallout, available on Amazon Prime on December 17.

The Most Likely Southern Idaho Spots To Find The 'Upside Down'
There are Stranger Things fans, and then there are the 'super fans.' I would certainly fall into the later category.
I love the show because I grew up in the eighties in a time when we didn't sit at a computer playing video games six hours a day, but instead lived outside, riding bikes and creating our own adventures.

For those who aren't familiar with what the 'upside down' is, it's an alternate dimension where evil lurks in the form of Demogorgons, Demodogs, and the main adversary, 'Vecna,' who has been terrorizing the fictional city of Hawkins in the series since the 2022 release of season four.
If such a portal as the 'upside down' existed in southern Idaho, it would make sense that it would be heavily guarded by state military. With this in mind, a hanger at the Mountain Home Air Force Base might be a likely entrance point. A bunker beneath The Idaho National Laboratory might also be a location for the festering, godforsaken entry point to all things scary and nightmare inducing.
The next few episodes of season five will drop on Netflix on Christmas Day!
