Expeditions Ongoing For Idaho River Monster 157 Yrs Later
Like any state in the country, Idaho has its share of lore.
For more than 150 years, boaters and divers have navigated the waters of a southeastern Idaho portion of river in search of a serpent that is said to resemble a sea snake with the trunk of an elephant.
Anyone who is afraid of the water, has even more of a reason to avoid a stretch of the Snake River in Bonneville County, 95 miles northeast of Pocatello. It's there where this 'monster' is said to have first been sighted back in 1868, according to Fandom.

The monster has its own apparel, if that tells you anything about how seriously residents in this region of the state take the sightings.
Most recently, the Howler Brothers released a short documentary that has over 15,000 views featuring footage of a 2024 expedition. They failed to uncover any scientific evidence that the carnivorous, multi-legged serpent still swims beneath the waters of Swan Valley.
