Swim, Float, Picnic Beneath Southern Idaho 60 Foot Rock Waterfall
With the weekend just about upon us, the warm weather will drive many Idahoans out of town looking to spend a few afternoons sunbathing, swimming, and hiking. One spectacular location in southwestern Idaho offers picnicking, fire pits, trails, and swimming beneath a 60-foot waterfall surrounded by rock walls and sand.
For those who are looking to escape the Magic Valley this weekend for some time alone or a day of relaxing with friends or family, the town of Marsing is just outside of Boise and has one of the coolest spots to hang out under the desert sun, and it's a pet-friendly destination as well. Have you visited Jump Creek yet?
Make sure to bring the floaties, some food to barbeque, and chairs so you can soak your feet beneath this beautiful natural landmark.
There are no fees to spend the day at Jump Creek hiking, floating, backpacking, or swimming with the dog. It's only a half-mile roundtrip to reach Jump Creek Falls, which measures 60 feet in height and offers calm, shallow waters for kids to enjoy as well. The falls are just 35 miles west of Boise, and approximately a two-and-a-half-hour drive from Twin Falls.
It's called Jump Creek, but attempting to leap from the top is not advised and is extremely dangerous for those looking to cliff jump. Jump Creek is a day-use area and an ideal spot to cool off. Watch out for the poison ivy that can be seen along the trail.
Arriving earlier in the day is recommended. Make sure to bring the floaties, some food to barbeque, and chairs so you can soak your feet beneath this beautiful natural landmark.
