Balanced Rock

As most locals know it’s not easy to get there from the highway.

CASTLEFORD, Idaho (KLIX) – In a quiet spot in western Twin Falls County stands an oddly-shaped, wind-carved rock some 48 feet tall. Some visitors say the rock resembles a giant question mark; others say it looks like a boot. Still others say it reminds them of the African continent.

The most obvious question you can ask yourself when you look at the Balanced Rock near Buhl is how does it stay balanced. There's an interesting theory that may explain what's up - or what's staying up.
