Dogs are welcome as well, but they need to be leashed or tied up. The park also offers terrific bike trails, disc golf, volleyball, and has sprawling, lush lawns throughout the property that are ideal for picnics and games.

The buttes also happen to be a very dog-friendly area where pets can roam and spend a day free from the confines of backyard fences and chains. Enjoy Earth Day with your favorite animal and perhaps bring home a shiny opal to show off to friends.

We found some places around Twin Falls where you definitely need to take your dog with you the next time you go.

According to the All Trails website, you can bring your dog as long as it's leashed and you pick up after them. The hike is a pretty good one, so packing a lunch and planning to spend a few hours out is probably the way to go.

We are used to camping "off-the-grid," but I have to say, this is an overnight experience that I will add to my summer trip planner from here on out.

Dogs are also very fond of the Snake River.
