Yields are down, but prices are up for this year's onion crop in the Treasure Valley of Idaho and Oregon. A harsh winter, wet spring and hot summer combined to make this a difficult year for farmers.
Over the past 2 weeks numerous buildings have collapsed in Idaho and Oregon due to heavy snow and rain. Some of these buildings were onion plants and onion storage facilities.

High gas prices save lives. For every $1 rise in gas prices, approximately 11,000 American lives are saved. That’s a combo of fewer car accidents and more people getting healthy by walking.
