My family decided we would take a trip to Boise this weekend to stare at fish. I will admit that I was less than excited at this possibility. Now that we're back in Twin, I can report that we did, in fact, go stare at fish.

The Aquarium of Boise is an interesting place. When I think of "aquariums", I imagine huge water areas like the famous one in Monterey, California.

That's not the deal for the Aquarium of Boise. For the most part, there are a wide variety of fish in separate, smaller tanks.

I sufficiently irritated my wife and kids by referring to every fish as "Nemo" that I doubt they'll make me go back.

The staff there were friendly and the down-to-Earth environment was appealing. But, at the end of the day, all I really did was stare at fish. And, as a parent, I can accurately report that the most terrifying part that I experienced was the gift shop. Nothing scarier than having 4 kids who have also just stared at fish wanting a souvenir of the experience.
