Steven Tyler granted a very cool final wish to Aerosmith super fan, Lawrence Ori.  His wish was to meet Tyler and he did via Skype last week.  It was all set up by the Passages Hospice Dream Foundation.

The colors were a bit faded, but the design of Lawrence Ori’s only tattoo was still visible. He couldn’t raise his arm proudly to show you anymore, but you could still see the Aerosmith logo there on his bicep.

Here's how it all went down:

“Lawrence? This is Steven,” Tyler said. “I’m coming to you from L.A. and I’m so glad to meet you.”  Ori couldn’t respond, but his eyes went wide. His girlfriend Joanie Dziak held his hand and spoke for him. Dziak told Tyler about Ori’s passion for rock music and Aerosmith. She couldn’t even count how many times Ori had seen the band in concert.

Later that afternoon Ori passed away.  And in the background Aerosmiths “Dream On” was heard and he left this world with a smile on his face.

AC/DC

And now to go back in time:

On this day in 1980, 32-year old vocalist Brian Johnson replaced the late Bon Scott in AC/DC.

Why you ask?

The group was riding a new high when 1980 rolled around. But soon after beginning work on their seventh album, tragedy struck. On February 19, 1980, Scott passed out in his car after a night of heavy drinking at London's Music Machine club. The next morning, Scott's friend, Alistair Kinnear, who'd left Scott the previous evening passed out in the car, went out to find the singer still in the car and unconscious. Kinnear rushed him to King's College Hospital in Camberwell, where he was pronounced dead.

All and all, the momentum for AC/DC has still not stopped, for me that is.
