Idaho Neighbor State Among U.S. Leaders In Missing Teeth
A large majority of Americans don't put enough effort into caring for their teeth, or simply don't have the means to do so. Ten states, in particular, have a staggering number of adult residents whose teeth are in desperate need of help.
Although Idaho didn't land in the nation's top 10 for individuals missing multiple numbers of teeth, the state does have a lot of room for improvement. As people age, the likelihood of impending tooth loss increases.
I am currently dealing with dental issues myself, and it's not due to insurance coverage or a lack of oral care providers near me. I've always been very good at taking care of my teeth, but I've had two toward the back of my mouth that just went bad due to age. They've been extracted, and my only option now is to get implants, which cost between $2,000 and $5,000 each.

According to the Fluoride Action Network, Idaho ranks second in the nation for health insurance expenses billed for dental treatments. The Gem State also ranks 32nd when it comes to tooth loss among adults (over 18) at 32 percent, according to Consumer Affairs. This clearly shows that many Idahoans are not prioritizing their dental health.

Nevada placed 10th in the U.S. for tooth loss in adults (37%) between the ages of 18 and 64, according to Consumer Affairs. The top three states for that same age group are Arkansas (#3 at 41%), Mississippi (#2 at 44%), and West Virginia (#1 at 45%).
