Trader Joe’s Releases New Stores List; Is Twin Falls ID On Radar?
One of America's most popular specialty grocery stores is expanding in the Western United States. Idaho already has two locations; perhaps 2026 could be the year they get a third.
Trader Joe's has been operating since 1967 when they opened their first location in Pasadena, California, according to refinery29.com. The brand expanded into Idaho 10 years ago by opening a store in Boise; they opened another location in Meridian in 2019.
While there is no current evidence that the chain will open near Twin Falls, I would venture to say that Magic Valley residents would welcome the addition of a Trader Joe's in town.

We don't get to Trader Joe's as often as we would like. We go because they have an insane cheese variety and their wine aisle is pretty impressive as well. They are also known for their snack and specialty pizzas and offer an extensive frozen food section that includes items geared toward those who have food allergies like being lactose intolerant and gluten-challenged.
The company recently released its 2025 store additions list in which California got three more locations and Washington State picked one up in Bellingham, in the northwesternmost portion of the state. Al.com also reported new stores opened in New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Maryland.
More Trader Joe's will likely open in 2026, and it would make perfect sense to target the Magic Valley. A third southern Idaho location near Twin Falls would mean Idaho fans of the store wouldn't have to drive the two hours to get their favorite Trader Joe's brand items.
While there is no current evidence that the chain will open near Twin Falls, I would venture to say that Magic Valley residents would welcome the addition of a Trader Joe's in town.
