This had to be one of the biggest public displays of political support in recent Idaho history.  An estimated 300 people were at the Eden interchange on Interstate 84 to cheer on a passing truck convoy.  Truck drivers plan to join a much larger demonstration in Washington, D.C.  There were large greeting parties starting near Ontario, Oregon, and then throughout Southern Idaho.

Other trucks rolled through Kootenai County along Interstate 90.  There was a massive crowd there.

In the Boise area, there was a picnic-like atmosphere with music as the trucks stopped for a rest.

The convoy began in support of the recently crushed trucker demonstration in Canada.  Drivers are demanding coronavirus vaccine mandates be scrapped, especially for cross-border traffic.

By the time the convoy rolls into the nation’s capital, there may be another larger concern.  The cost of fuel is skyrocketing after the Russian invasion of Ukraine and all President Biden can do is promise more green energy projects paid for with fiat currency.

Here are some things I’ve read or watched in the last 24 hours that all portend a serious crisis.  A guest on a television program last night suggested the average family may soon be paying another $1,000 a month for groceries.  This is because fertilizer costs are rising by leaps and bounds.  The base for most fertilizers is what we call fossil fuels.  Toss in on higher trucking costs and another threat against the struggling supply chain.  Computer hackers could bring it down.

Don’t blame me.  I voted for a straight Republican ticket.

LOOK: What 25 Historic Battlefields Look Like Today

The following is an examination of what became of the sites where America waged its most important and often most brutal campaigns of war. Using a variety of sources, Stacker selected 25 historically significant battlefields in American history. For each one, Stacker investigated what happened there when the battles raged as well as what became of those hallowed grounds when the fighting stopped.

These are the battlefields that defined the United States military’s journey from upstart Colonial rebels to an invincible global war machine.
