Twin Falls Artists Encouraged to Submit Work In Ketchum
KETCHUM, Id. ( KMVT / KSVT ) - If you are an artist looking for an opportunity to display your work in Ketchum and win some money…
The City of Ketchum is inviting artists to participate in the 8th annual Art on Fourth outdoor sculpture exhibition and Cover Art utility box projects.
The winning sculptures will be on display along 4th street and the cover art will be printed on vinyl and used to wrap utility boxes around town.
“We believe that art enhances our feelings and makes us feel good and brings a new dimension to our lives. So we jury every year an art show along 4th Street and in the square, and we also jury work to cover the utility boxes that you see throughout town,” said Marybeth Flower, Ketchum Arts Commission.
Both projects are organized and curated by the Ketchum Arts Commission, formed in 2009 with the objective of integrating art and culture into the community.
In 2012, the Ketchum Arts Commission unveiled its first cover art project, featuring vinyl images of original artwork wrapping utility boxes around town.
“It varies. And that’s what we want. We want a variety. We want you to come around a corner and see a utility box and be surprised, that it’s so different than the one you saw two blocks away,” said Flowers.
Selected artists get $1000. The winning artwork will be installed this spring.
The deadline to submit your sculptures is March 4th and the deadline for the utility box project is February 12th.
