October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, so obviously breast cancer is getting a lot of publicity right now. I'd like to share a story about ovarian cancer though.

Emma Allred is a 13 year old girl in Twin Falls with ovarian cancer. First of all - I didn't know kids could get that cancer. Secondly - Emma is an amazing girl with a huge heart. She has gone through 3 rounds of chemotherapy and has a fourth coming up in November. While getting cancer is a terrible thing, she was lucky to receive a gift from the Make-A-Wish Foundation and she opted to use that wish to help others.

On October 1st, with the help of the community, she was able to gather over 13,000 pounds of food for the homeless! For more details on Emma and her battle with cancer - check out this article from Good Morning America.
