For many people, being greeted by animals upon returning home is a part of everyday life. One North Idaho man recently shared a video of his encounter with a 1,000 pounds worth of animal who decided to park its rear on the lawn just feet from the front door.

They don't call dogs "man's best friend" for nothing. They are loyal animals who lie in wait daily to be the first to shower their owners with affection after pulling into the driveway. What most people don't have to walk past headed up the walkway to the front door is a 1,000-pound moose, but that was the case recently for a Post Falls man.

To see them wandering near northern Idaho neighborhoods isn't anything out of the norm, but they don't normally plop down on the front lawn like a dog waiting for the family car to arrive.

"Wildlife in the front yard of the in-laws," were the words the man used when he prepared to pull into the driveway on Tuesday afternoon (December 3). The YouTube footage shows the magnificent beast of an animal grazing on the front lawn just beneath what appears to be a living room window. It appears to not have a care in the world as it stares out into the neighborhood.

Wild moose are common in this small city located just 50 miles southwest of Sandpoint. To see them wandering near northern Idaho neighborhoods isn't anything out of the norm, but they don't normally plop down on the front lawn like a dog waiting for the family car to arrive.

Tiny Movie Theater for Squirrels

If you're going to feed the squirrels, you may as well do it in style.
