Idaho skiers and snowboarders might be used to catching big air, but hitting a ski lift bench off a jump isn't something we often see when spending a day on the mountain. One Idaho skier is lucky to have walked away with just some scratches after nailing a bench mid-air, and it was all caught on video.

I'm no skier. My snowboarding experience lasted about two winters before my board got stolen out of my garage, and that's all it took for me to completely lose interest in the hobby. Idaho is a winter playground for both tourists and its natives, and the Sawtooth Mountains, Bitterroot Mountains, Selkirk Mountains, and all other ranges throughout the Gem State offer winter recreation as good as any other state in America.

The video shows an unidentified man fly off a jump and catch enough air to actually collide with an empty lift bench that was passing by.

I may not have a background as a skier, but I've always enjoyed watching it. The Winter Olympics are the only time I tune into the games, and the freestyle and big air events are hands down my favorite thing to watch.

An insane video was recently shared on the Instagram page of Ski & Bike Magazine. Someone using the handle @candence.amelia is credited with capturing the footage of a skier enjoying a day at Idaho's Schweitzer Mountain in Sandpoint. The video shows an unidentified man fly of a jump and catch enough air to actually collide with an empty lift bench that was passing by.

According to the post, the man wasn't seriously injured. The video has been viewed over 430,000 times so far.
