The games of the XXX Olympiad begin Friday in London. NBC, which is broadcasting an unprecedented 5,535 hours of the Summer Olympics on TV and online, is hoping Americans will be glued to their screens over the next couple weeks.

According to a survey from Rasmussen of 1,000 adults, 49 percent are at least “somewhat” likely to watch a large portion of the games. Of those, 25 percent are “very likely” to do so.

On the other hand, 50 percent of the poll’s respondents say they probably won’t be tuning in, with 19 percent of those naysayers answering that they are “not likely at all” to watch.
