Opinion: The Worst Thing An Idaho Homeowner Can Leave New Buyers
For those of us who have purchased a home previously owned by another human, it's not uncommon to find objects left behind by those in a hurry to leave. There are, however, a few things that cross the line when it comes to hastily leaving a dwelling for new buyers.
My wife and I recently bought our second home together. The first property we've already sold, and we were looking to acquire another home to fix up and potentially rent later on.
We got the keys this week and decided to give the property a closer once-over before beginning the cleaning process. We were surprised to discover that the previous owner left behind a washer and dryer. We still haven't tested the appliances to see if they work, but we will soon.

Aside from a corpse, underwear ranks right up there with the worst thing a property owner could forget to pack before selling their home and moving elsewhere. We found the boxers along with some socks in the washing machine that was left behind.
'Really dude!" These were the words my wife uttered when she opened the lid. We don't know yet if there are any skidmarks in them because they haven't been moved.

A Reddit post titled 'Weirdest Things Left Behind From Previous Owner' from 2024 had me cracking up this week. Some of the responses included a '10-year-old cat named Spirit,' 'hand-to-hand combat books,' 'a dog wheelchair,' and a 'bottle in the fridge labeled Holy Water.'
