Something Strange Is Happening At The Bottom Of Bear Lake

Bear Lake is an incredible destination even if you're just floating around on the surface. When you look under the lake, what you see is even more fascinating.

The YouTube channel Scuba Idaho explored the bottom of Bear Lake and took amazing video. Here's part of their description.

on the bottom of Blue Lake are the remains of several boats, platforms and amazing "hot pots" where the hot water comes through the sand constantly creating pools and mini volcanoes of sand

I would have no problems with fish. But, seeing "mini volcanoes of sand" might freak me out a bit. Some of the divers reaching down into those "mini volcanoes" would also not be on my to-do list.

If you have the gear and some spectacular swimming ability, you can explore the bottom of Bear Lake yourself. It's only about a 3 1/2 hour drive from Twin.
