BOISE, Idaho (KLIX) The Idaho Department of Education is encouraging students to come up with the next holiday card for the upcoming Christmas season. Any Idaho school children in grades kindergarten to sixth can submit art work for the Holiday Card Contest. There will be winners in each grade level that will be featured on the State Department of Education website. One of the cards will be chosen as the official holiday card for the department, like last years winner, Kylee Thiel, who was a Twin Falls fifth-grader. Deadline for submissions is Nov. 13. The deadline for submitting artwork is Monday, Nov. 13. Entries should be mailed to Idaho State Department of Education, Holiday Card Contest, attn.: Jo Ann Bujarski, P.O. Box 83720 Boise 83720-0027.
Drawings should be on 8.5 x 11-inch paper in a landscape format and must be labeled on the back with the student’s name, grade, district, school, school district and teacher’s name. Students are encouraged to completely fill the page but keep the design simple, using as many colors as they want. Students may use watercolors, colored paper, magic markers, crayons or a combination of those items.
