Renting property to a stranger can be a risky way to make some extra money.

People all over the world make a supplemental income through renting travel trailers, guest houses, and even rooms in their own home to strangers passing through for a few days. There are a few options vacationers have when it comes to booking these types of stays, and one Idaho woman recently shared a harrowing experience she had with a man interested in renting out a dwelling on her property.

For those who aren't familiar, Airbnb is a website where travelers can rent a place to sleep in cities they are traveling to as an alternative to lodging at a hotel or inn. Many hosts live on the property as a way to watch after things while renters use their homes.

Idaho Airbnb Host Claims 'Hostile' Renter Planned To Kidnap or Harm Her

'ITSMEDANAHERE' is the name of an Idaho Airbnb host's TikTok channel, where she opened up to the public about a frightening experience she recently had. Dana has been renting her property for two years in a remote region of the state.

Dana claims a potential renter named 'Ted' contacted her about using a guest home on her property. His messages soon became aggressive. He grew frustrated over what he believed was misleading information on the website.

Apparently, after several rude messages to the host, 'Ted' drove out to her place unannounced after threatening to cancel his reservation. He showed up after dark with a flashlight and was attempting to enter her home, according to the five-minute TikTok video.

Dana lives on the property with her kids and boyfriend 'Austin', who confronted the angry man shortly after he arrived. Dana believes "Ted' thought she lived there with one other female due to the photos she used to promote the property on Airbnb.

'We pack out here', Dana says in the video. 'We ain't scared'.

Thankfully, the ordeal ended without anyone getting hurt. Renting your home to strangers does carry some risk, so Dana reminded others to be careful.
