Another Bigfoot Reported Near Where Famous 1967 CA Video Was Shot
There's been another potential Bigfoot sighting in the forest of northwestern California that happens to be in close proximity to where the famous Bluff Creek video was taken in the fall of 1967. A couple hiking in the woods reported the incident to a national Bigfoot research organization that investigates such claims.
Bigfoot is back in the news again. The community of Redcrest, California is buzzing after a couple enjoying a day in the forest reported something very unusual roughly 120 miles south of the location the 1967 Patterson/Gimlin footage was taken on October 20 of that year. Redcrest is located just northeast of Humboldt Redwoods State Park along Highway 101.
The incident, in which one of the witnesses described feeling "immediate dread," took place a few weeks ago just after sunset near Route 254.

Having lived in and explored every inch of California, if there's ever a place Bigfoot could stay hidden from the public eye it's this region of the state. The famous, decades-old footage that put Bigfoot on the map was taken north of Six Rivers National Forest, which is about a two-hour drive north through heavily forested landscape from where this most recent incident occurred.
Bigfoot sightings happen regularly in the central and northern portions of California. Highway 199 has been a hotspot in recent years regarding motorist sightings.
The Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization published the incident report (#77611) from the two witnesses who claimed to have heard the reported "whooping" and "knocking" sounds thought to be a way that Sasquatch attempts to communicate with people and other animals. The incident, in which one of the witnesses described feeling "immediate dread," took place a few weeks ago just after sunset near Route 254.
Heavy rustling and rapid movement was also described by the creature in the report.
