‘Breaking Bad’ Wins Outstanding Drama Series at the 2014 Emmys
‘Breaking Bad’ won the 2014 Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series, beating out such other contenders as ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘True Detective.’
‘Breaking Bad’ stars Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul and Anna Gunn won in their respective categories earlier in the evening -- Cranston in the Lead Actor Drama category, Paul in the Supporting Actor category and Gunn in the Supporting Actress category -- a lovely change from last year, which saw Jeff Daniels of 'The Newsroom' beating out Cranston for Lead Actor, while the series as a whole fell to the waist side.
'Breaking Bad' also features Dean Norris, Betsy Brandt, Bob Odenkirk and RJ Mitte, and follows the journey of chemistry teacher Walter White (Cranston) and his former student (Paul) into the underworld of New Mexico’s crystal meth empire. ‘Breaking Bad’ concluded its critically acclaimed five-year run last fall, but AMC will premiere an upcoming spinoff, 'Better Call Saul,' starring Odenkirk's Saul Goodman in 2015.
