A California man who allegedly stole goods from a Target store is awaiting a court date after police were alerted to a theft and located the perpetrator in a getaway U-Haul truck. Drugs were also reportedly discovered in the man's possession.

NBC 4 Los Angeles shared details of a theft at a Target store in Chino several days ago where more than $1,400 worth of inventory was reportedly taken. Drugs were also seized by state police and were discovered packed in a Hello Kitty pouch, according to NBC 4 Los Angeles.

The incident reportedly took place on August 20 at a store location 35 miles east of Los Angeles, according to the report by NBC. Target has been in the news a lot lately due to a string of closures. Theft has been reported as being one of the main reasons why the chain has been forced to close locations in the United States.

The exact type of drug found on the man was not disclosed. It's not every day we hear about U-Haul trucks being involved in thefts of this nature. Marijuana is legal in the state for recreational use at home, but traveling with any sort of drug in an automobile can result in search and seizure by police, fines, and even jail time.
