Police in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of central California responded Monday to a woman walking through town reportedly making obscene gestures while wearing no clothing. The incident happened in a small community approximately 130 miles east of San Francisco.

Police in Jamestown, California were alerted Monday to a 29-year-old woman walking downtown completely naked and flipping off residents and motorists, according to details shared on the Tuolumne County Dispatch / Meta website. The individual was identified as a missing woman from nearby San Bernadino County, according to the report.

Several people who commented on the post inquired as to whether or not mental illness factored into the incident. Many posted comments of prayer and support for both the woman and the responding police department. Jamestown is a small community of approximately 3,700 people, according to Data USA.

Multiple people contacted local police regarding the matter which took place sometime Monday afternoon. No further information was given by local police and it is not known if drugs were involved.
