Caldwell Man Sentenced for Possession of Child Pornography
BOISE, Idaho (KLIX)-A 51-year-old Caldwell man will spend nearly three decades behind bars for having more than 1,000 images of child pornography on his phone. According to Acting U.S. Attorney Rafael Gonzalez Jr., Kenneth Rowe was handed a 27-year sentence behind federal prison bars for possession of child pornography this week. An investigation started when someone reported finding explicit images of children on Rowe's cellphone in May of 2020. Agents with the Idaho Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force served a search warrant on the phone and discovered the images depicting children, even infants, engaging in sexual acts. It was also found that Rowe shared the images with other people and talked about the desire to sexually abuse a child; Rowe has been convicted of other sexual offenses. Once he serves his sentence behind bars, Rowe will be required to serve a lifetime of supervised release. He must also pay $30,000 in restitution to the victims in the images. Plus, he must give up the phone used to commit the crime and register as a sex offender.
